The Past Few Weeks...

I'm really going to try and keep up with the blogging! It's been super busy around here! Here's whats been going on the past few weeks:

Auntie Blaire and the boys skyping with Uncle Jordan

Yep, C is naked sitting in his toy. He thinks b/c the cars spin, if he sits in it he will spin too Ha!
2 weeks ago we had my parents over to watch the Giants vs Green Bay game. Giants won! WooHoo!! My Mom and I cooked dinner and we all watched the game...even the kiddos! We had such a great time!

The boys were invited to a sweet friend's birthday at the Children's Museum. It was C's first time there and he had a blast! B sang the ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in the Music room. He was the only one who wanted to sing...probably because he will do anything to see him self on the big screen. Maybe we've got an actor on our hands?

B was "lifting weights"...

...and C watched him.

On the rainy days we had movie days and did some crafts. This is where we discovered C's love of coloring. I never knew a 16 month old could color!! He begs to do it all day, so I've had to put up the crayons for fear of him coloring everything in my house!

It finally got sunny, and along with that sun came warm weather! We played outside everyday it was warm! B begged me to get the jeep and motorcycle out, so I did and the boys had a blast! C loved riding along with B in the jeep. But when B wanted to drive the motorcycle, I had to drive C around. Can you picture me driving that little jeep Haha! C also learned to go down the slide by himself (well, I would help him up to the tree house b/c I didn't want him to fall) by turning around backward and going down on his tummy feet first! He loved it SO much and we probably did that for 45 minutes straight. I was worn out!!

C is a bit destructive. He also loves to climb. You can see where this is going. I used to be able to let him roam the house freely b/c I put up anything I didn't want him to have. Well, he can now get those things. He will climb on the kitchen/dining room chairs and the onto the tables. He also climbs on top of the couch, chair, and end tables in the living room. I don't know what I was thinking when I said things are getting easier...I jinxed myself! Not only is the climbing getting out of control, but he likes to take things and throw them all over the room. Toys, tissues, clothes, etc. You get the picture.

He climbed on the bed, grabbed the box and proceeded to "blow" his nose on 57 tissues. That's not counting the ones he threw in the trash!!
But he sure can be sweet!!

Watching the boys play together is such a joy!

C Is 16, Going On 17

C turned 16 months on the 4th of this month. He is growing maturing so much and I'm having a blast watching this happen! Everyday it seems like he is doing or saying something new! Oh how I wish I could keep him this age forever (well, not really, I will need him to grow up someday and move out HA!)! Here are the few new things he's been doing since 15 months:

  • Words: Hot, Dirty (he points to the trash can b/c thats what I've always said when he tries to get in it!), Heidi, HaHa
  • Can now climb up on all the chairs in the house, and then the tables. Has also cllimbed up on our HUGE bed and is working on B's now. I'm scared to see what he'll climb up on next!
  • He's been a bit of a clinger lately. He's not really been a huge Mama's boy, but this month he sure has! It's enjoyable only when B isn't being clingy at the same time.
  • Has 2 new teeth, so he's also been cranky :( I'm ready for ALL of them to come in...teething hasn't been good this time around.
  • He is learning to play with B's trains. B is SO happy that he isn't destroying everything now!

Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful Christmas. Christmas Eve we always let the boys open 1 gift, so B was extra excited when the one he picked was a train to add to his collection! C didn't really seem to care, but did love opening his gift. Luckily he's still too young to know whats going on, so we can get away with not getting him much one more year.
Christmas morning B got up early and ran in our room. He couldn't wait to see if Santa came! C woke up around the same time, so we we're good to go. C ran in first and ran straight to his shopping cart (how did he know it was his?) and B ran to his Tag reading system. They both started playing and pulling out toys from their stockings! It was a lot of fun watching them. Then we let them play for a little bit while I made some muffins and coffee. Then we opened presents. Brian separated them into piles and we just let them go for it....we both didn't want to drag it out. They were so excited and loved all of their gifts!
We headed over to my parents house for lunch...it's a tradition. We ate some awesome food and opened presents with my dad's side of the family. Then we spent time with my parents and sister and opened presents with them. B was loving this present opening thing and kept asking for more, long after there were none left... man is that child spoiled rotten! We gathered up our loot and headed back home. The boys played and we let them stay up late. Then we all crashed! It was a great Christmas and I really enjoyed watching my boys play together and see the love they have for each other. God truly blessed us with these boys!!

Milk and cookies for Santa. B informed me that we needed to feed the reindeer too...so I gave them some chex mix I made Ha!

Christmas Eve before opening presents

B dug into that stocking!

C decided he'd rather ride in his shopping cart than push it!

NYC girls trip

Yes, I got away for a NYC girls trip with my sister Helen (in-law...I don't see her as that!) and my nieces! We stayed with one of Helen's high school best friends in Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island. Danette was SO sweet to hook us up with a free place to stay! We only had 2 full days in the city, so we made sure we did them right. Luckily we all had been 2 previous times and were not into doing too many touristy things.

Sunday (day 1) was freezing, but so awesome! We headed to the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art). It was HUGE, so we only saw the few things we wanted...European sculptures and art, Modern photography, and ALL of the Rembrandt's they had! It would take a full day to go through the whole museum, so we will save the rest for another trip. Then we shopped while waiting to meet another of Helen's friends, Bavani. I've met her before and she's so awesome! She lives right outside the city and came in on her only day off to hang out. Once we met up with her we headed to the East Village for some Mac-n-cheese. Yep, I came to NY for just that. There's a small hole in the wall near NYU called S'Mac. It ONLY has mac-n-cheese and you can get it any way you like. Go here for their menu. Afterward we went to Macy's to see their displays and shop. Then we went to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree....and it was GORGEOUS! It was more beautiful in person than I imagined! We got some coffee and walked around the (freezing!) city until time to catch our train home.

Monday (day 2) we dressed for the freezing weather, but were pleasantly surprised when it was warm! Good thing we all had giant purses to store our extra clothes! We started the day at the World Trade Center. The first tower is HUGE and beautiful. We didn't get to see the memorial b/c you have to buy tickets way in advance, but we walked around and saw other smaller memorials family members set up. Then we hit Century 21 and hit it was! Anna found the boots she was looking for and I finally found C his Christmas sweater. And everything was crazy CHEAP! We stopped at Washington Square Park for few pictures and it was beautiful! FAO Schwartz was next on our list. I wanted to get B a smurf from the NY store b/c that's where the smurfs go in the movie. I scored a bear for C and a train for both boys to share and they were on sale! I took pictures just for B and wished SO badly he could've been there (just for that part of the trip ha!). Little Italy was next. We walked through and noted a few places we wanted to eat for dinner, then hit Chinatown (Canal st!) for some shopping (on the cheap!). We got lots of cute stuff and headed to pick our restaurant. We had so many Italians trying to reel us in, but it was the very attractive, young guy outside Umberto's Clam House that won us over. There was only one other family in the restaurant (it was 3:30) so it was nice and cozy. Our waiter was excellent and the food was awesome! We all got something different so we could share. Most of the way through our meal the cute host shoved our waiter down and they started fighting. The waiter got up and then the host swung and missed, then they were both choking each other...it was CRAZY! The owner broke it up and the whole time we're looking around like, "Where are the camera's? Are we on the Jersey Shore?" HAHA! After the craziness we shopped a little more, then headed uptown to the Lincloln Center for The Nutcracker performed by the NYC Ballet!!
It was the most magical, beautiful show I've ever been to. Our seats were fantastic and we were all brought to tears during the second act. This was by far the highlight of our trip. It was our Christmas present from Helen and there is no way I could thank her enough. The talent was incredible and what got me was there were 5 and 6 yr olds out there dancing! I've got chills again just thinking about it! Afterward we walked around some more to soak in every last ounce of NYC before we had to jump on our train back to LI.

I can't wait to go back again. It's my favorite place in the whole world and if it were possible I would be living there right now. Maybe one day when the boys are out of college ha!
